Funding available for Johnson County Children’s Projects
(Iowa City, Iowa) (February 6, 2009) - The Johnson County Empowerment Board
announces the availability of funds for programs that provide support to families with children age 0 through five years old and pregnant women.
The purpose of the funds is to support programs that will have a positive impact on measures of: early education, children’s health, and/or
parent education and family support services
Purposes of the funding are to ensure that young children are properly nurtured and stimulated in safe and healthy environments so that they are ready to learn and succeed
when they enter school and to increase the availability of quality child care to support parents in obtaining or retaining employment. Anyone providing services to Johnson
County families is eligible to apply. Funds are available for programs to run July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. A Bidder’s Conference will be held on Friday February 27 at
3:00 p.m. in Suite 203 of the Johnson County Health & Human Services Building, 855 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City. Additional information and grant applications can be obtained
